About Crater Days
In June, 1979. a tornado devastated the town of Manson. The next year a great tradition was born as "Appreciation Days" to thank all who had helped after the tornado and to celebrate small town life.
The name of the annual celebration evolved to "Greater Crater Days", a reference to the meteor that crashed to earth creating the Manson Impact Structure. You can read more about the meteor here. Greater Crater Days is celebrated the last full weekend of June every year.
